Transmutex

Nuclear fission is a scalable, carbon-free energy source that requires little land use and is unaffected by geography or weather. However, the risk of nuclear accidents, like those in Chernobyl and Fukushima, can have severe consequences such as long-term environmental damage and health risks to nearby populations. Nuclear reactors also produce radioactive waste which remains hazardous for thousands of years and no way of permanent disposal for it has been found. As such, radioactive waste management is a $1 trillion global liability. Transmutex is pioneering a new type of nuclear fission reactor that uses a particle accelerator and existing long-lived radioactive waste and thorium to create green energy. Transmutex’ subcritical reactor eliminates the risk of uncontrolled chain reactions, and its particle accelerator stops all processes in 2 milliseconds after it loses power. Thorium-based reactors are also resistant to proliferation. Collaborating with esteemed research centers and industry leaders worldwide, Transmutex is dedicated to delivering a cutting-edge pilot plant within a decade, marking the dawn of a new era in nuclear energy.
