9T Labs has raised USD 4.3 million in a Seed round led by Verve Ventures. Technology Fund, Wingman Ventures, and existing shareholders contributed to this round.

9T Labs has developed a combination of hardware and software to 3D print carbon fiber parts for serial production. Tabletop-sized printers use a proprietary custom print head and a material mix resulting in a new, automated manufacturing process. 9T Labs software enables customers to simulate and calculate the optimal fiber layout. A second manufacturing step combining heat and pressure gives the finished parts industrial strength. This makes 9T Labs approach perfectly suited for small and high-volume series of small parts for applications in robotics, medtech, drones and airplanes, and sports. “Demand for strong but lightweight materials is growing, especially in industries of the future”, says Verve Ventures’ Investment Manager Romeo Bütler.

The funds raised will help 9T Lab’s mission to make carbon fiber composite materials as accessible as ordinary metal materials.
